Who hasn’t dreamt of spending their days melting, moulding and creating delicious chocolate rather than hearing it drop from an office vending machine. We’re cautious types though so rather than jump feet first into the melting pot we took our time, built a dedicated chocolate kitchen and set about learning how to be chocolatiers.
It was our friends who suffered most in the early days. They had to eat their way through tons of truffles, bags of bars and quite literally boxes of boxes but we all made it through and we can’t thank them enough for all their help, advice, support and patience.
We’re absolutely thrilled with the way the business is evolving and remain convinced that focusing on our customers, sticking to small batch production to ensure absolute freshness and collaborating with other like-minded local food producers is the way forward.
So a huge thank you to everyone who has trusted us to fulfil their chocolate cravings since 2015 and we hope to continue to do so for a very long time to come!
When we say ‘hand made’ we really do mean it! Every one of our chocolates is made by Mike in our dedicated chocolate studio based in Midhurst, West Sussex – at the heart of the South Downs.
Mike searches out award-winning local ingredients from fellow artisan producers who share his passion for creating incredible products. Then fresh cream ganaches are blended with just the right amount of those key ingredients – like gin, wine, natural oils, coffee or even mineral water.
The chocolates are then dipped, decorated and piped by hand before being lovingly packed by hand as well.
We’re extremely proud to have been awarded 2 gold stars by the Guild of Fine Foods in the 2020 Great Taste Awards for our Ditchling Gin and Orange Truffles! We’re also very proud Grand Finalists in the Sussex Food & Drink Awards 2017 and Finalists in the 2019 and 2020 awards, on all occasions for Food Producer of the Year!
Sussex Food & Drink Awards is the only awards in the county created to support and boost local farmers, food and drink producers and the outlets which serve and sell their superb local fare.
